Christmas Party 2011

Our 2011 Holiday Party included pizza, drinks, ice cream and sweets. The party life saver for the kids included a Moon Jump donated by one of our parents. The kids were more interested in the Moon Jumper then the food. The evening ended up with alot of sweaty smiling kids.

If your interested in a VERY AFFORDABLE rental of a Moon Jumper, Tables & Chairs, Tents etc. email Ana at  onestoppartyrental@yahoo.com.

Old School & Recent Pics

Alot of my oldest pictures were damaged when my basement flooded. These are some of the survivors. If any of my old students have anything you would like to send me please do! The memories live on.

Also notice the picture with no sparring equipment and NO I didn't get disqualified . . . this time.

Isshinryu Karate

The system of Karate taught at the Midwest School of Isshinryu is called Isshinryu (eesh in roo).  It comes from Okinawa and is considered to be the most versatile of almost all styles.  Isshinryu develops an individual to the best of their potential by allowing them the flexibility to use your natural assets to the best of your ability.  We do not insist upon high kicks or very low, uncomfortable stances.  The philosophy behind our system is that you must be able to successfully react to any situation using the talents unique to your mind and body. The goal of our school is to promote good Traditional Isshinryu.

Fit Karate-ka Elements

The Fit Karate-ka Class introduces the basic punches, kicks and blocks of Isshinryu karate. Designed for adults who are new to martial arts or fitness, the course introduces just a couple new concepts each week. The class itself, however, will be fast-paced and you will keep moving. When you complete the class, you can easily transition into a traditional martial arts course or kick boxing class.

Instructor Stacy Strunk, a.k.a. the Fat Karate-ka, who has lost more than 100 pounds through her training in karate. She can show you how.
